Women and acne have an intimate relation. Their blooming youth and blushing sensitivity is marked by that small pimple on their pink cheeks. Yet acnes are troublesome also among them. The fair sex initiates in facing the acne problem acutely from their teens which continues till thirty. The female body and the hormonal system acting in it are greatly responsible for the growth of acne. One thing is very clear about the growth of acne that it is somehow related to puberty. During this phase of life there is a massive change in the hormonal order in the female body. If you have minutely noticed your menstrual cycle, a common thing must have been observed. Acnes generally appear before your period begins. They are often known as the premenstrual adult acne. Hormonal stimulation Stimulation of androgens works most behind the formation of acne on your skin. Androgen is the particular hormone responsible for stimulation of sebaceous glands. These glands in turn secrete sebum that affects the hair follicles of the skin. The activity of the sebaceous glands or oil producing glands is at the peak. Therefore this is the exact moment for the acnes to grow up on the skin with the over formation of oil. Even you will find your skin always very oily during the menstrual period. In many females across the world, acnes and menstruation go hand-in-hand. So for all those five days in the month, acnes become the companion of their skin. Acnes during pregnancy and menopause Though acnes and youthfulness have a correlation but even after fifty hormonal acnes can appear on your skin. During the times of menopause there is again a great reversal in the hormonal order. The female body undergoes a huge change. And acnes become a dominant part of this change. When you conceive your menstrual cycle comes to a halt. This is again another turning point in the endocrine system of a female body. The secretion of hormones undergoes a sea change and the production of the androgens become high. Thus the pregnant woman can have acnes on her skin. Remedies treating this feminine disorder The problem of acne is not confined to the adult women. But the treatment for these female folk is a bit different from the normal remedial methods. The usual topical ointments containing benzoyl peroxide can be used. Antibiotic pills such as tetracycline can be taken orally. But what happens if these are not effective? Women can go for birth control pills to cure acne. The relationship is very simple. As acnes and hormonal secretion in the female body are tied together, thus the regulation of this cycle with the help of birth control pills can be quite effective. But whatever treatment you pick up except for the self care cleaning tips, consult with a gynecologist for safe decision.
