Clomiphene Citrate Medicine - Uses, Dosage and Side Effects

Clomiphene citrate is a drug having augmenting influences on fertility. Clomiphene is used for the treatment of ovulatory failure in women who wish to become pregnant and whose husbands are fertile and potent.

Clomiphene Citrate Dosage

* The usual starting dosage for the first course of treatment is 50 milligrams daily for 5 days.

Uses of Clomiphene Citrate

We usually start with the lowest dosage to minimize adverse reactions. We then increase the dose in a subsequent cycle if ovulation does not occur. The patient should begin testing urine for an LH surge daily with an ovulation test kit, beginning on day 11 or 12 of the cycle. Call the office when an LH surge occurs.

But if you are taking Clomiphene Citrate with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Overdose

After taken Clomiphene Citrate if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Clomiphene Citrate overdose are unknown.
