Effective Fitness and Weightloss

By: Scott Smithson

Just about everyone wishes they could become more fit and most of us
would also like to shed a few pounds. Gaining weight is so easy but
weight loss seems to be so difficult. Staying on a program of physical
fitness also seems to be difficult. There is so much information out there
on weight loss and physical fitness, so sorting out fact from fiction
should be your first step to fitness and weight loss.

What you eat and how much of it is the number one cause of weight gain.
If you are consuming more calories than you burn each day, then that
day you will have weight gain not weight loss. Fad diets can work in the
short run but if you go back to your same bad eating habits the weight
will come right back on. For proper fitness and weight loss you must
have reasonable and healthy eating habits.

Using drugs of any king as part of a fitness and weight loss program is
another temporary fix. Stimulants will dull your apatite and increase
the number of calories your body burns but eventually even they stop
working. Fitness and drugs just don't mix. You can achieve some weight
loss with them but once again when you stop using them, your bodies
reaction is to gain the weight right back on.

So for fitness and weight loss there is just no way around it. You must
exercise and burn some calories and you must limit your caloric intake.
Cut out the fat and eat foods that contain fiber. Fiber in your diet
helps your digestive system move the food you eat through it. On a low
fiber diet the food you eat stays in your system longer. Eat more
vegetables and unprocessed foods.

In order to improve your overall physical fitness you must exercise.
Exercise helps with your weight loss program also. The more you exercise,
the more muscle you build. The more muscle you have the more calories
your body burns. A treadmill in your house can help with fitness and it
will also help with the weight loss. Make exercise and eating right the
back bone of your personal fitness and weight loss program.
