How to Submit Your Site To Search Engine

By: bonzy

Getting Started

A word of advice before we proceed. When it comes to promoting your web pages please try and only promote complete works that are well written and well designed. And above all "focus" your content upon what your target audience will be looking for when they arrive at your site. When selling product and services, make useful information available to your audience as soon as they arrive at your site. What I'm really trying to say is: "Don't put the cart before the horse"! Make sure your material is ready for primetime before you invite the world to consider what your web pages have to offer them. I can't stress this point enough. Content is King. Don't look like a fool by promoting substandard work that even a robot can see sucks! When you have good content developed it is indeed time to begin promoting your web site. There are a many resources available to you for doing this. Many of these resources are free and fast to use. There are many web sites that specialize in providing internet marketing professionals with easy automated methods for submitting web pages to "multiple" search engines and directories online today. I like using these kind of resources because I am able to exploit the expertise of people who specialize in keeping abreast of not only the protocols involved with submitting to a particular resource. But they are always aware of new search engines "rules" and resources as they become aware of them.

Altavista, Excite, Go, Google, Hotbot, Infoseek, Lycos, Northern Light, WhatUseek

Another consideration when promoting your web pages is the global nature of the medium we are working with. Our Cognigen agencies are GLOBAL, and many of the services we currently offer have global appeal to people all over the world. I recruit people outside of North America every week. Promoting our Cognigen businesses globally makes real sense. www.canada.com is one international search engine I submit my web pages. I've also gotten good results with a www.verica.com and others. Go out there on the web and you'll find lot's of search engines all over the planet that can be exploited by you.

Yahoo!

Yahoo is not a search engine. It is an index of web content that is entirely indexed by humans. Yahoo has very specific rules for developing your web pages so that they may be included in the www.Yahoo.com index. You must submit your pages for consideration and a few months later a human may finally review your web page. You may also pay a higher listing fee for "priority" consideration. If that content review person finds any reason not to include your page in Yahoos index, your page will not be indexed and the listing fee is non-refundable. I suggest you approach promoting your web pages on Yahoo with a separate and well informed effort only after you understand exactly what the parameters and rules are that Yahoo perfers you follow for inclusion in their index.

Multisubmission Software Automates the Work!

When you're ready for an industrial strength tool that will help you organize and automate your submission work you will be pleasantly surprised to discover that it will cost you less than $100 per year to maintain a top quality Multisubmission Software Client. Multisubmission software is very powerful software that will allow you to submit numerous pages to search engines, directories, award sites, and ffa sites automatically. And in a "targeted" manner.

One of the most beneficial aspects of using a good multisubmission client is that you can "target" your submissions. Instead of just submitting to one engine in a general category you will be able to submit to all search engines and more while targeting your submissions to specific categories. Like travel, education, business travel, telecommunications, etc... You will see the value in this as you discover how to develop web pages that target these specific categories. For instance developing a web page that appeals to business travelers followed by a submission effort tareting travel, business, and business travel categories will achieve excellent results. Assuming you have developed your "targeted" web page so that it is well written and gives your audience exactly what they are expecting to find.

One of the best multisubmission clients I have used for four years and still use today is "Submission Wizard" from Exploit. You will simply find it very valuable to your internet marketing operations while being very easy on your budget. The software is free to download and test drive http://www.exploit.com/wizard/download.html.

Final Word

In closing this article I want to mention that consistent proactive marketing is what will bring you consistent reactive income. There are absolutely no silver bullets when it comes to marketing online or off. I have been in marketing and sales for 16 plus years. What works for me now is what has always worked for me - organized, deliberate, and above all CONSITENT PERSISTENT effort. The tools are better. Technology empowers us. But we still need to do the work, be proactive, and consistent in order to get good results that accumulates measurable success. Get into the habit of developing new web pages and ideas that you can promote. And then focus your efforts. Exploit niches. GUERILLA MARKET! Think of each new web page and each new target market you focus upon as another arrow in your quiver. Before long you'll have an arrow for any target market you may wish to exploit.
