Are you thinking about a designer iPod nano case for your 3G nano? I bought one yesterday and love mine. Those of us who use the nano most of the day need a way to carry it while we're shopping, in the car, and between iPod nano speakers for the room. We worry about it getting ruined by the rain or banged up if we drop it. Until recently I'd never thought of it as a fashion statement. Two weeks ago I saw my friend's leather flip case and had an 'aha' moment. Time to search for options. Reasonably Priced: For a quick and inexpensive dress-up, look for a fake (faux) leather flip case. They come in a lot of colors and will protect your nano from scratches. A small step up is the Kroo Manhattan faux leather. It has red topstitching to make it a little more memorable. Still, not the statement I was looking for when I was shopping. For a step further, take a look at the cases by Cloe Dao. Edgy types might want the skull and crossbones emblem on one of her designs. Non-edgy me liked her pinstripe case in hot colors. I was looking for something a little more conservative for commuting to work -- but might try the colored case for weekend wear. Mid-Range Price and Style: The Sena Pullino case may not get you gasps of "style envy" but you'll never be embarassed by it either. This nano case is a clean design, made with European leather, and has a velvet lining to prevent scratching. Pacific Designs and Marware have some good options in this price range too. They both target the multi-purpose case market and make a good product. Again, nothing to get noticed, but will do the job. (Actually, Marware does have a leather flipcase that's pretty nice if you want something along the "simple but not ostentatious" lines.) Fashionista: For an evening look try the Gilty Cotoure 3G nano case. The Swarovski Crystal accents pair with a silver- or gold-plating case. The crystals accents frame the screen and control wheel for an effect that's suprisingly tasteful. This case runs just slightly less than the cost of an 8GB nano. But then, you weren't concerned about that anyway were you? My favorite for the work week is the Difusi case with snakeskin and napa leather. I also like the magnetic clasp. Also a plus: the price is around $40. I was hoping to find something by Coach, Dior, or Prada to review. Coach has one for the 2G version of the nano, but they haven't built one for 3G yet. Basically I was out of luck. I ended up with the difusi 3G nano holder and I love it. Maybe this Christmas I'll look again for a high-end brand that fits the 3G. If you're looking for a 3G iPod nano designer case you have a lot of options. Express your special style!
