Dirt does not cause acne. That is one of the very basic concepts that most acne sufferers need to accept. Keeping the face clean will help to make acne outbreaks happen less frequently and be less severe when they do happen but the fact that your face gets dirty is not the cause of acne. If you are one who is prone to outbreaks of acne, then facial cleansing is of high importance. However, facial cleansing during and outbreak and for the prevention of an outbreak should be of a particular type. Let's take a look at some of the specifics of acne control: Believe it or not... wash your hands first. This really shouldn't be surprising. Your hands are about to come in contact with your face. So, scrub your hands before you do anything... make sure the nails are clean as well. 2.The next thing that you need to do is to secure your hair either in a hairnet, a shower cap or a headband. Pull your hair away from your face and firmly secure it. Begin by wetting your face with warm water. Don't use hot water. Then apply the cleansing product as directed by the packaged instruction. Always follow the directions and use the directed amount (no more or less). When applying the cleanser, use only your fingertips to work the cleanser into your face. Don't use a wash cloth. Using a circular motion be sure to work your way all the way up to your hairline. You should pay particular attention to any of the problem acne areas that you have on your face. Remember, hard scrubbing is counterproductive to the cause... use even gentle strokes. Once completed, be sure to rinse off your face very thoroughly. You don't want to leave any traces of the cleanser on your face. Use warm water and gently splash it around your face to accomplish this. 6.Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Don't rub your face and never use a towel more than once. Before you apply any type of acne medication or moisturizers, make sure that you allow your face to air dry completely (usually about 15 minutes). Keeping to this simple routine of hygiene in your battle against acne will help you control acne and clear up your skin.
