Article writing is a fast, simple way to promote your website and increase its search engine rankings. All you have to do is write a few articles, send them to some of the hundreds of article distibution websites, and wait for website owners to use them on their sites. By writing articles other webmasters can use on their sites, you can help yourself in three ways. First of all, as more webmasters use your articles and your name is seen more often, people will begin to regard you as an expert on the subject of your articles. Benefit number two is that article readers will click on the link in the author's box, resulting in immediate, increased traffic to his or her website. Last but most important is the potential impact of article writing on your search engine rankings. The more articles picked up by other webmasters, the more links you will have to your site. And, no other single factor has as great a positive impact on your site as the number and quality of sites linking to it. Be sure to compose the author's box as carefully as your article. It should include your name, a sentence about you, and a text link, with appropriate anchor text, to your website. Note that the text links in the author's box below use the terms most likely to be used by people searching for websites like mine. Of course, your articles will only help promote your site if other webmasters use them. To ensure that, follow these simple tips. 1. Write "how to" articles; articles with practical information. 2. Choose an attention getting title. 3. Write a first draft, write as many additional drafts as necessary, and edit, and proofread very carefully. Develop articles webmasters will be proud to add to their sites. 4. Be brief. If you can say what you need to 300 words, don't use 500. 5. Be aware of the audience you are trying to reach and give them what they want (or need). Don't get discouraged if all of your articles aren't picked up by hundreds of sites. The more you write the more you will learn about what kinds of articles are most likely to be well received. So, stay at it and you will almost surely be rewarded for your efforts.
