eBay buyers these days are expecting pictures. The truth is if you use don't use pictures and your competition does than you are dead in the water.Game over you are already done for.You see what happens when people see listings with out pictures is they move on and quickly. You have a few seconds to grab their attention and with out pictures they are gone. It might take a little extra work taking good photo's of your items but it can bring huge dividends, especially if you're working on tight profit margins or selling products which really come to life with a good quality image such as cars, real estate, antiques, collectibles etc . But lets look at why they are so effective? The most compelling reason for using photo's in your eBay and other auction listings is it makes you look like you want to be helpful to your customer. f you go to the extra effort of presenting your customer with good quality pictures they will just assume this is your highly professional way of doing business. You will come over as a professional seller and your customer will be happier doing business with you than competitors who maybe don't bother. The use of digital photo's gives our customer the confidence they need to make a buying decision, they feel they can almost touch the item and it makes their owning it feel more more real. This is always preferable to something that they can only picture in their mind with your written description, which is all they will have to make a decision on without a photograph to illustrate your item. If yoy want your auctions to be found quickly a photo will act like a flash light in a dark room making your listings jump out at your buyer. Most people when looking to buy anything are searching for instant gratification not hours of endless searching through poor listings. By making your listing stand out from the crowd you will make more sales and get higher prices than your lazy rivals who don't bother. So what could you do to make sure your pictures really do their job and bring in more sales and higher prices for your advertised items. I have given you a few pointers which should help .. Overwhelm them with images rather than just 1-2 .Although eBay might want to charge you for every image you use in your auction listing if you use your own webspace and get your own web hosting then you can add as many pictures as you like for nothing. All you need to do is take as many pictures as is appropriate for your eBay item listing and then add them using simple HTML code. I understand that the thought of adding images to your own web space has probably sent you in to a blind panic but it really is not that difficult to do. But if you are not comfortable with this you can find video's all over the net and on my blog at http://www.auctionwealthsecrets.com/auctionnews .If that still leads you cold you can usually find a college kid or even your own kids will be able to do this for a few bucks for you. Make you pictures perfect. If you are still mastering the art of taking photo's with your digital camera there are ways of improving your photo's using software. You might have heard of the expression airbrushing images (often in relation to celebrity photo's) this allows you to improve the photo if your photography skills are lacking. You can do this with software called image software just search in Google and you will find them listed (many offer free trails to get you started). Improve picture quality. Get a good digital camera a 35mm film camera really will not do the job when using photo's online, and pay special attention to technique and composition when you take the photos. Don't just throw them on your bed and take photos or stand them on your kitchen table. If you are learning from scratch about photography a lightly single coloured table cloth against a white background is good for starters. I personally use a white or light coloured sheet as a back drop. For lighter items a dark blue or black background will also work well.Be inventive and look at other auctions that attract your attention and how they have taken photo's. In a future article I will be looking at how you can enhance your listings even further by the use of digital video photograhy so check that out soon.
