Ways To Spice Up Microsofts Zune Player

By: Chris Channing

The Microsoft Zune is a popular entertainment platform that has made quite a stir in the audio and entertainment industry. It features a long list of audio and multimedia capabilities that could keep anyone entertained for hours. But once the novelty of owning the prestigious Zune goes away- what does one do to keep the entertainment value running high?

The most basic (and usually cheapest) way to give more style and personality to one's Zune is to simply buy a Zune cover. These covers commonly shield the Zune from any harm that comes from dropping or scraping the surface. It also, however, serves as a way for artists to stylize personal cases to show off their likes, interests, and overall artistic ability in designing Zune covers.

Many iPod fans will boast that their MP3 player has the functionality to transmit FM radio signals to the nearest radio receiver. Zune fans can accomplish this too, however, with the Zune FM radio transmission add-on. This add-on enables any Zune to transmit the necessary FM radio signals so they may share their music with friends in a vehicle or anywhere a radio is present.

There are thousands of audio buffs around the world just waiting for the MP3 player to come out that sports superior sound quality. In that respect, the Zune can do just that with travel packs and A/V packs that can be purchased separately. Such packs give the Zune user the option to connect the Zune to devices such as stereos or more powerful speakers. Doing so enables the user to listen to their music in a much euphoric sense, due to the better sound quality.

But the sound buffs who enjoy phenomenal sound don't necessarily like to carry bulky wiring and packaging around. If that's the case, they may wish to invest in a separate docking station in which to place the Zune. Docking stations commonly connect Zune players to stereo devices and other multimedia displays. This essentially gives the Zune owner a way to play their music without messing with wires or carrying around excess packaging.

The docking platform previously mentioned also has a bulky interface, which isn't always mobile enough for some Zune users. If a trip or excursion is necessary and the added bulk isn't viable, earphones may have to be invested in. But Zune users don't have to settle for less- expensive earphones that specialize in superior audio quality can ensure that a Zune owner gets nothing but the best from their investment.

Final Thoughts

What it all comes down to is this: the Zune is a very popular mobile entertainment machine that can be expanded through its many accessories. Investing in accessories is almost necessary in taking full advantage of the product that Microsoft so humbly released. If nothing else, Zune users who care about their music should obtain high definition headphones in order to hear the music with- this is often one investment that no one regrets.
