I have heard many people argue there should NOT be a nationwide cellular directory of cell phone numbers. People say that they don’t want their cell phone number listed in the directory because they don’t want to get random or prank phone calls. Well, I disagree. I think that we definitely need some sort of organized and managed cell phone number directory, especially since we all (or most of us) are dependant on our cell phones. In fact, many people (including me) use there cell phone as their home phone. How are we supposed get a hold of our neighbor? Or our aunt and uncle? Or other friends and family members? Many of the ones against a National Cellular Directory say that everybody important to them is already in their phonebook on their cell phone. This may be true but there are many times that you will need to call other people that aren’t “important”. The way we our society is headed the landline phone is going to be obsolete. Then what? The sooner we act on a trusted, organized, managed cell phone directory the better we will be in the future.
